We were sitting on the bar sipping our last margaritas,
After a few too many drinks and all night dancing,
We were exhausted and drunk mostly.
We were just looking at the people still dancing,
Grinding their hips with each other,
Bodies touching devoid of any inhibitions.
From your gaze through the crowd,
You turned and looked at my beat up face,
Still with traces of sweat and red from the beverages.
You got me distracted so I asked why,
“Do you know that you are the most beautiful girl in this place?”,
“Yeah, right”, I said.
“But you are.” You insisted.
“Oh really? And why is that?”,
“Because you’re the only one my heart could see.”
Then you just smiled and turned your gaze back to the crowd.
